We notify the content uploader of the takedown and provide counter-notice option
Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied and is accessible on HowTo.Haus in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, you may send us a DMCA takedown notice. To be effective, your notice must include all of the following elements:
Required Elements:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material
- Your contact information, including address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized
- A statement made under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Counter-Notification Process
If you believe that material you posted was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake
- Your name, address, and telephone number
- A statement consenting to jurisdiction of Federal District Court in your district
Important Notice
After receiving a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the person who submitted the original DMCA notice. If they don't file a court action within 10 business days, we may restore the content.
Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws, HowTo.Haus has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, users who are deemed to be repeat infringers.
We may also, at our sole discretion, limit access to the site and/or terminate the accounts of any users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

Users who receive multiple valid DMCA takedown notices may have their accounts suspended or terminated permanently.

Before sending a DMCA notice, please be aware that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability for damages.
This includes attorney's fees incurred by the alleged infringer, the service provider, and any copyright owner or copyright owner's authorized licensee who is injured as a result of the service provider relying upon the misrepresentation.
